To Expand Frontline Testing, Tracking, and Supervision to Combat COVID-19

Impact Bridges Group is working with Fio Corporation to expand the response to COVID-19 beyond the few overburdened medical centres and labs to thousands of health posts, such as pharmacies, clinics, airports, and office towers, Fio Cororation’s solution, FIONET, enables:

1. everyday frontline healthcare workers to deliver expert-level diagnostic testing, triage, and tracing

2. supervisors to remotely see, guide, and adjust frontline healthcare activity in real time

3. public health officials to manage responses and resources to a new level of precision and promptness

4. uninfected people on a daily basis to return to work safely, preserving jobs and the economy

Fionet is a mobile platform enabling accurate, frontline diagnostic testing, real-time tracking, and remote supervision of frontline care. In the process, it automatically digitizes frontline activity.

1. Fionet Software and Mobile Devices for frontline healthcare workers: (1) accurate diagnostics on the spot for 3rd-party tests; (2) up-to-the-minute triage procedures; (3) real-time data capture and upload

2. Fionet Cloud for real-time analytics and connectivity between: (1) frontline healthcare workers and remote managers; (2) frontline data and 3rd-party databases and electronic health record systems

3. Fionet Portals on laptops and mobile devices for remote managers: (1) real-time tracking of frontline actions and results; (2) dynamically guiding frontline triage and test procedures; (3) real-time reporting

To get people back to work requires definitive, daily testing of individuals to determine who is well and can safely work. At workplace entrances, for example, personnel can be tested for the virus daily before entering, and feel secure that everyone else also tested negative. At pharmacies or clinics, personnel can be tested and certified for immunity. Fionet enables controlled decentralized testing, tracking, and tracing. Publicly visible, tech interventions may also be reassuring.

Fio can deliver Fionet to 3,000 sites and 300 remote supervisors and managers. Such a (scalable) deployment includes:

  • 3,000 Fionet Mobile Devices for frontline healthcare workers. Fionet can read a rapid diagnostic test in seconds. Throughput is determined by healthworkers’ capacity to process tests. We estimate that, for 3,000 Fionet devices, healthworkers can process 400,000/day.

  • Platform customization and configuration

  • Integration of Fionet data into government databases and healthcare IT systems § Fionet Portals for laptops and mobile devices of authorized supervisors and managers

  • Training of healthcare workers, managers, and other stakeholders

  • Maintenance, service, and support
